someone in my family has MDR TB - Relapse.hes undergoing treatment,however i want to know if anyone can tell me where i can find the best possible treatment in India and the best doctor i can get in touch with.

Multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB) is defined as resistance to the two most effective first line TB drugs: rifampicin and isoniazid. Extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) is also resistant to three or more of the six classes of second-line drugs.(Wikipedia)
Second-line drugs: Other antibiotics are active against TB and are used primarily for MDR-TB. The 2 most important classes are the aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones. Streptomycin, the most commonly used aminoglycoside, is very effective and bactericidal.
Kanamycin and amikacin Some Trade Names (AMIKIN)
may remain effective even if streptomycin resistance has developed. Their renal and neural toxicities are similar to those of streptomycin. Capreomycin Some Trade Names (CAPASTAT)
, a related parenteral bactericidal drug, has dosage, effectiveness, and adverse effects similar to those of streptomycin. It is an important drug for MDR-TB because isolates resistant to streptomycin are often susceptible to capreomycin Some Trade Names (CAPASTAT), and it seems somewhat better tolerated than the aminoglycosides when prolonged administration is required.
